Ignoring varietals of course, which means I’m going to ignore the U.S. for this since we label our wines as varietals…but for the parts of the world where a wine is based upon region…I only drink wines that end in a consonant, ends in “e” or are Spanish.
So La Tache is ok but Romanee-Conti isn’t? Hmm…
My quirk is that I only drink wine, I do not merely “taste” it.
Both are fine since they are Burgund"y". Not getting down to vineyard
Silly.
Considering the letter y as a consonant in this case is being extremely literal…
I was taught that ‘y’ in English can represent a vowel (as in sky, by, gym, happy). I believe the ‘y’ in Burgundy acts as a vowel.
Perhaps Kevin meant Bourgogne.
