Another Myriad Thread- 2010 Myriad Dr Crane

Lots of love on the board right now with Myriad release time. I did not plan it this way but wanted to check in on a few 2010 cabs over our vacation. I posted a note on the 10 DP in another thread. We saved the 10 Crane for the last night of the trip. We rented a lake house and the owner is probably more of a cocktail drinker then wine lover. Decanted the wine in a water pitcher for 45 minutes and it was just singing. No formal note as we were chillin on the last night and had before and with some burgers( great match).

Lush nose of dark fruit that is really inviting. Mouth is an explosion of black fruits, dark chocolate some spice and tobacco notes on the finish. It’s balanced and rides that line of full bodied juicy delight but does not veer over it. Tannins give it richness and nice mouthfeel. Wow wine for sure and hits the excellent/outstanding mark for me. Can hold for some time but with a decant not sure you really need to. Mike really nails the Crane…

One of my favorite sites in Napa. Brought a bottle of the 2008 on vacation and opened last night. Hoping for the same experience you had, but alas it was a corked bottle.

I had this bottle a couple weeks ago and it was outstanding. There was a ‘bubble gum’ note that was so distinctive on both the nose and palate, it made it all that more interesting. Not sure if that is site specific to Dr Crane or the winemaker style but it was terrific!

Jason- I’ve gotten that same candied note. Not sure I would identify as bubble gum but i know what you mean and i’ve noticed it on prior vintages but not other wines from Mike.

I picked up bubble gum on a late season barrel sample of Crane Elysian. Didn’t notice it on the bottled product though.
