Slide Hill made #50 of Jeb’s top 100 of 2024
Got lucky! Just received an email saying my Wishlist Slide Hill was granted.
Just got the wish list for the Mag set.
We opened a 2020 Mourvedre and 2018 Grenache on Christmas eve. My wife’s sister and husband were in love after the first sip. we drank over about 4 hours starting at 10 pm after the other 20+ people left. I poured that crowd Turley Old Vines and Juvenile. I think if I poured Franzia, most wouldn’t notice or care, but for the glass or two that I have over 4-5 hours, I want to have something I’ll enjoy.
Finally got around to the Albariño tonight - will post notes separately, but initial impression is very positive. Exotic nose of tropical fruit and melon, great acidity - currently a tad too cold, will let it warm a bit before constructing a formal note.
Nice! Going to try to pull one in the next week
Looking forward to hearing what you think!
I passed on the albarino but am regretting it now.
Congrats- it is truly that good. My all-time favorite Syrah.
This is freaking incredible. Jim is a homerun hitter.
The wine has an explosion as you initially taste it and then all the flavors bounce around the tongue. I have it in the fridge for later, but this will definitely be an annual purchase.
Slide Hill could well be the best Syrah I have ever had. Will purchase every time I’m offered this.
Gonna bum me out I didn’t wish list any but I took the 3 pack and magnum. Will be a few years before I open one of these.
ordered 2 different 3pks at different times and am just now realizing I got charged full shipping on both instead of them consolidating them to one box and they’re also shipping them as separate boxes, gotta love it
Everything ship as a 3 pack from them, although they may get 2 three packs in one box.
the shipping is modest, not really too concerned, but the two separate boxes seems silly
opened a '17 eaba tonight. cork pulled about 3 hours before drinking. no decant.
first few ounces tasted strong of southern rhone. told Brandy this and then poured a few more. then went peppery syrah. fun chuckle.
the rest of the bottle was fairly vibrant, youthful, but also polished. blue fruit. some cinnamon. nose was really, really outstanding.
i would say sit on this wine till next year. but yea good shit.
Still hesitant to pull my bottles just yet. I’ve opened a few here and there, trying to get a couple more years on them.
Thx I’ve got 5 of those. No rush
enjoyed one of those the other night
end all and be all for sure

Been lurking on the Andremily list for a little while now and just received the offer for the EABA Library Release. Debating taking the plunge after a painful (for my credit card) few weeks of offerings - reasonable shipping helps.
Yes I have/will read the notes on CT/here (big and rich seem to be the common themes!), but interested to hear any updated opinions on the '17-'20 EABAs offered.
Thanks!
17 EABA is fantastic
