Sorry, I didn’t take notes on this one but I did want to weigh in with some impressions. I opened this over the past weekend and the first night it was very nice, but tight. It reminded me of Anderson’s CV Cabernet, but a little fuller. Because of work, I had to leave this stoppered in the fridge for 2 days before revisiting. This was when it was a borderline “Wow” wine. It had really opened up and was a classic full bodied intense California Cab. I don’t know what I would have “pointed” it the first night, but certainly above 90. After 2 days, this was clearly a 94-96 pointer for me.
Shocking to see “the palate” scores on this one and many other A-O wines. But, this along with others, has convinced me to take his scores on Cali Cabs with a grain of salt.
Maybe critics not being able to follow a wine’s progression is a huge detriment to many wine scores? I was quite amazed at the progression of this wine in particular.
