Oh I made a new thread for the release before I saw this. Yes I’m also a big fan and had a great time tasting at their house last year. Highly recommend a visit.
offer is live, I’m in for a few
I received the offer today. In for six. Great pinot
I thought the ‘23 was one of the best of the vintage, so I’m in for the ‘24.
Had the ‘24 tonight and hoping it was an off bottle. I’m a little worried because they held back the release longer than the ‘23 with a cryptic explanation. Hoping it was not because they were not happy with the wine.
Meadows?
You would hope they wouldnt release it if they werent happy with it. Hopefully time helps.
We had the ‘24 last night blind, 7 very experienced wine geeks, and we universally hated it. A day to open didn’t help. Sorry to rain on anyone’s parade.
O dam. Well thats disappointing. Just bought 3 of the 750s a month or so ago after thinking it over. Oh well. Wondering what was so bad about it.
Hey Jayson, all good we brought umbrellas. I thought it was pretty awesome. Can you hit us with some tasting notes?
For me it tasted of overripe fruit. Really pretty undrinkable
Wish I only bought the one.
Jay provided some context. I feel like it would be cruel and unusual punishment if I were to pile on.
I’ll drop in on one again soon for context. Certainly a cooler little section of the golden mile in the Russian river. I remember it being tight, with red cherry, breakfast tea, orange peel and a stony quality. Way leaner than what I’m used to from the area. Some stem still integrating but in a way that excited me for the future
