2011 Alder Springs Chardonnay
No nose at all, flabby with a weird cantaloupe flavor. The cork was saturated a quarter of the way up and the top of the bottle was a little sticky, not sure what to make of this bottle. NR
2008 Sonoma Coast Pinot
Open two hours while sitting in cellar, decanted just before service. What a glorious nose, decanting this bottle was a wonderful experience. When this sits in the glass a few minutes it develops a floral nose that then “swirls out” to reveal bright red fruits and a touch of cedar. On the palette a light mouthfeel, red fruits, cherry liqueur, hint of spice. The spice and cedar notes might pick up in a few more years, but it will be hard to lay off these. 91
I don’t what to say about the chard, they went into the cellar 10 minutes after I received them, I certainly don’t remember them being warm to the touch. I think I’ll go see if I can spin the capsules on my other ones.
