Alban Reva Syrah 2001

This is more of a tasting impression rather than a tasting note. The wine was opened kind of at the last minute last night, and I just decided to enjoy rather than be clinical about it. I was surprised at how young the wine seemed. It was released a few years ago, but seemed younger than thta with a dark purple color, fairly tannic, and lots of fruit. No intrusive oak, and some spices to it. A little bit too hot in the mouth, but with food it went well. It seems fairly integrated. I would say that the wine is great to drink now, but will last for awhile as well, so I doubt there is a need to hurry and open it either. I gave it 92 points.
