Would someone mind letting me know how the Alban wine list works? I’d probably partner with one or more friends to buy allocations but I’d only do it if I was assured of getting some Viognier and Roussanne. That depends on how the offerings work. Thanks!
I have been on and off a few times. They are quick to throw you off if you don’t buy every time you are offered or you don’t buy enough. You will be offered the Viognier and Roussanne soon after you’re on. I’m a long time fan of all his wines, but the reds are pricy with Loraine and Seymours going for $165 a bottle. Reva is a relative bargain at $97. If you just want the whites, you might look in the secondary market. They’re usually available at a reasonable price.
I’ve been on the list for a few years hoping for allocations of the estate whites. Never bought and was never kicked off. I finally got an offer for 2 estate viog this winter, which I took along with 4 Patrina. I’m not generally the type of person who likes richer wines, but these are really excellent. Both wines btw were hits at home.
Thanks gents. This gives me enough information to make a decision. Regards
