So what made you decided to pass this round if you don’t mind me asking? I contemplated for awhile but ended up pulling the trigger
I’m new wine mailing-listed out. Every year there seems to be some new “can’t miss” wine you MUST have that is so expensive. I’ve only stuck with MacDonald, Beta/Jasud, Roy Piper, some Rivers-Marie here and there, and gave-in and bought Dorsey. I’ve cut everything else. I’ll take Bordeaux for the price and availability all day long.
I thought pretty deeply about where my cellar capacity currently sits, how I need to decrease my annual buys to keep from adding another offsite locker and a desire to taste something prior to buying (I did this with Mowe and bought the 2nd vintage after tasting with them).
There are wineries I have been buying from for years with releases this month that I will be buying and I won’t thread hijack by naming them. I typically have an outline of what I am going to buy for the year and try to stick to it. This is me sticking to my plan.
All of the reviews for Aerika have been positive, however my FOMO is not a reflection on them.
I’m also reluctantly passing after having two 3-packs in my cart, despite FOMO. I love their story, and suspect I would greatly enjoy the wines. If they were priced like Beta+Jasud, I would’ve purchased (even though I certainly don’t need more Napa cab).
This has been my sentiment all year with a overflowing cellar. I went very light on Berserker Day. Less than a case and I have been very selective on purchases this year even passing on some of my yearly favorites which I will continue to do as I diversify more as my quantity on certain producers is drastically outpacing my consumption with them needing time tucked away
I went back yesterday evening and added the Wildwoods 3 pack to my previous Wing Canyon order. Super excited!
I was pretty close to passing on aerika but after hearing all the praise i thought i would give it a try. If worst comes to worst and i dont like it, im sure i can probably offload it.
I notice a lot of people choosing Wing Canyon over the Prologue. Is there a reason for favoring the Wing Canyon?
I chose the wing canyon for the cab franc and Merlot in the blend. I’ve added a lot of 100% cab sauv to the cellar lately and thought this would be a fun blend.
There were only a couple reviews on cellartracker for each so it was hard to decide. But also, Rohit said above that wing canyon was up there with Jasud in his eyes so I took that at face value.
I’d love to try both but I could only pick one as there’s some other releases I’m interested in soon.
now sold out
Hi @JohnMag, Wing Canyon and Wildwoods are the two wines under Prologue, each coming from a different vineyard.
Did you mean Wing Canyon over Wildwoods?
I also passed, for the same reasons also at some point there is only so much wine I can bring back to Canada on every trip
However based on feedback reviews I think those who purchased will be happy
Yes I guess I did, as usual I did not read the fine print. Thanks for the clarification!
Jasud
ROMO - Relief of Missing Out.
What is that supposed to mean?
The comparisons made on this thread/referring thread to Jasud
I dont remember seeing any comments comparing it to jasud.
Rohit made the comparison above
I thought rohit did but outside him i havent seen anyone else mention it.
