Gorgeous nose of red and black cherry, baking spice, and flowers. In the mouth, juicy and focused, with great balance and life to it. Red and black cherry fruit races across the tongue, supported by spice and subtle earth notes. • 2006 Joseph Swan Vineyards Pinot Noir Trenton Estate - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (9/22/2009)

Initially tight aromatics, but it opened up into a lovely nose of black cherry, baking spice, earth, minerals, and a floral accent. In the mouth, alive, concentrated, and racy. Explodes with black cherry fruit up front, with baking spice and earth backing it up. The mineral-laden acidity cuts across the tongue and leads to a long, juicy finish that has a bit of tannic bite. A baby. And delicious. A-
