A question for those in tasting groups or do different parts of a bottle taste different?

That does it!. Next time I order wine at a restaurant, I’m going to ask for a pour from the bottom of the bottle.

Why not just shake the bottles before pouring ?

I wonder if that will work with champagne? champagne.gif

Compared to you, our group is new - only 8 years.

To eliminate geographical differences we don’t talk about the wine during the tastings other than very generally. That tends to go out the window, though, when have have our XMas party with our wives blind tasting chardonnay

And since I’m the one writing up the TN, I get to add my editorial comments and preferences. My tastes tend to run close to the group as a whole.

I find the scores interesting and am happy to share them here, even risking a comment or two from one of the wine snobs.

The middle part of the bottle is the best, everyone knows that. I pour out the other parts.

After drinking the wine, I never taste the bottle, but just toss out for recycling. Does glass also have different terroirs? [snort.gif]
