A poisonous snake and a Chablis

Lotti 1
Brown Snake 0

Merry Christmas and Whew!

And personally, I would have gone right for the Scotch at that point- right from the bottle if need be, do not pass Chablis, do not collect $200.

Haha. Airedale don’t care. Airedale don’t give a sh!t.

I have two Jacks. The male is a beauty bred dog without a hunting clue, but the female is a pound dog rescue with a ferocious appetite for vermin and reptiles. Kills skinks by the dozen but I fear the day she finds a diamond back. Good on Lotti!

As all good dogs should be.

We have a Great Dane and have not seen a bear or wild boar in the house since we got him. He’s quite proud of himself.

I always kill snakes with Chablis [cheers.gif]

The 50% smaller Welshies have some of both, except when that hunting instinct kicks in…and their brains (atleast the human training portions) virtually disappear. Far fewer wildlife threats in this part of the world: rabies followed by deer ticks (lyme) and skunks (stink). IMHO, pound for pound, Jack and Parson Russells have unrivaled bloodlust.

RIP Indeed Bob. Steve-o with a Brown Snake:

Browns are very common in SA, not that you see them very often.
When we lived in the foothills of Adelaide our cats would bring them inside or to the back door now and then. The cats used to love to play with them, without regard to the consequences. Used to provide quite a bit of excitement in the household to find a brown in the kitchen!
Eventually though the snakes won and wiped out our two felines.

Well, Jeremy, to paraphrase, “All God’s creatures, they all gotta die” [cheers.gif]

After such an encounter Les, I should also paraphrase: ‘So it’s Rorschach and Prozac and everything is groovy’.

That hurt more than a snakebite… [mouth-drop.gif]

Hi Jeremy,

You get many Eastern Browns in the vineyards? I stayed in the cottage at Kay Brothers once and was cautioned about the Brown snakes. They especially like to come into the vineyards and have a drink from the irrigation drips.
