A Meursault and a Vosne

2008 Buisson-Charles Meursault 1er Cru Les Cras - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru (1/28/2012)
Rich, ripe, intense and heady. Loaded with pears, apples and peaches and a big dollop of cream. It is voluminous and sappy and buried underneath all of the flesh is a rich vein of geological matter. It has plenty of oak but even more fruit and is long and powerful.

2009 Domaine Jean Chauvenet Vosne-Romanée - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée (1/28/2012)
There’s a fair whack of wood evident on the nose, throwing off an esprsso scent. Thye fruit is ripe and plummy and threaded with a little spice. It has plenty of flavour in the mouth but is a little blocky and chunky and tastes more Nuits than Vosne.

Cheers

Slumming with the Chauvenet. Never have been a fan.
