…'Cause everybody loves Costco! But the main attraction is the Delarche, which exceeded expectations.

2003 Domaine Marius Delarche Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Sous Frétille Cuvée Unique - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru (10/27/2013)
For me this is Delarche’s most successful wine. I got into Sous Fretille before it was designated Premier Cru and drifted away as the prices went up. I’ve always loved the mineral flavors from this site! Alas, the previous one I had was totally poxed so my hopes were not high for this one.
Mineral, lemon and toasted bed notes make up a very nice bouquet. Palate has that killer rocky mineral Sous Fretille thing in spades, along with zingy lemon and toasted almond. Lots of citrus and mineral on the finish. Excellent to Outstanding. -
2010 Kirkland Signature Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de Nalys - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (10/26/2013)
Aromas of earth, barnyard stink, plummy fruits and savory herbs. Palate is pleasant - leather, touch of barnyard, ripe plum, cherry though with a drying tannin for an abrupt finish. Much, much improved over last bottle in 2012. Still not up to it’s appellation but the pleasure factor moves it to Very Good.
