A Friday Poll - How long should a tasting last?

30 - 60 min. is kind of what I assume, given the stated scenario. I voted 30 - 45, but I’d say 45 - 60 happens just as often. I taste slowly, and am usually taking notes, so it takes me a little bit longer than if I was just tasting through and not taking notes.

GregT really answered for me. I can tell pretty fast if it’s a wine that interest me or not. If the price point is right I’ll buy, otherwise I’ll move on. I also feel its somewhat of a courtesy to the winery. I don’t want them to spend cycles on me that they could spend on someone else. It’s a waste of everyone’s time, the tasting room person, mine and the person waiting behind me to have the staff tell me about winemaking techniques or vineyard practices. They should spend that time on the visitor who is there to hear it and with whom that will make a purchasing decision difference.
