2012 Bouchard Père et Fils Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru (7/5/2014)
Mildly exotic on the nose with notes of rockmelon, custard apple and ripe white peach. It is full in the mouth with some almond butter flavour coupled with a riot of ripe fruits. A sharp line of minerally acidity scythes through the palate giving the wine posture and cut and length of flavour is admirable. -
2012 A. et P. de Villaine Aligoté Bouzeron - France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Bouzeron (7/3/2014)
I reckon the riper years suit this wine and 2012 is no exception. You still get plenty of tart lemon and chalky minerality that pings around the gums but also some exotic custard apple things going on. It has richness but good line and drinks really well right now with the propensity to improve over the mid term. -
2012 Bouchard Aîné et Fils Meursault Les Clous - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault (7/3/2014)
I always buy a couple of bottles of this each year as I like the minerally tension you tend to get. The '12 smells of oranges and lemons. There’s some Meursault butteriness and good volume in the mouth. It has good detail, is balanced and quite giving at this early stage.
