A couple of W Burgs; '99 Leflaive 'Chevalier Montrachet', '02 Lafon 'Mersault, Perrieres'

  • 2002 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru (12/21/2013)
Bottle variation. My last bottle, just a few weeks ago, had the beginnings of either PremOx or Ox. None in this bottle. Just a near perfect white burgundy. Great mix of acid and fruit, the butteriness of Mersault really coming through. Loved this, if all these bottles turn out to be like this, winner! (96 pts.)

  • 1999 Domaine Leflaive Chevalier-Montrachet - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru (12/20/2013)
Yep, this wine gets a “Wow”. Pretty much perfect white Burgundy, really not sure it gets better (maybe a little better?). Color a bright and clear light yellow, so no premox here. Just what you want, the ‘just right’ combination of acid and fruit. Love it when it’s right… (96 pts.)

Had the same experience with the '02 Lafon Perrieres 1.5 years ago - a really good showing!! CHEERS

Yep. Random I guess. Last bottle was very good but was beginning the decline. This bottle absolutely still on the upswing.

Had the 09 Leflaive Chevalier-Montrachet last night; just posted my TN’s.
