Today I finished my last day of bottling of the 08 Roar Wines Pinots. We drank very little of these wines so here’s some impressions of some wines we did drink:
08 AP Vin, “Kanzler Vineyard”, Pinot Noir - this is very good. It is big and rich with beet root, cola, red fruits and spice. Distinctly Kanzler but different for Andrew. I usually get a little bitter oak tannin but not on this wine…very tasty. Well done.
06 August West, “Graham Vineyard”, Pinot Noir, Russian River - just terrific and while I prefer the 05 and 07, this is rich, balanced and fun to drink right now. Rich fruit, mushroom/earthiness, slight cola…yum
