2006 Radio-Coteau Pinot Noir Alberigi - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (6/10/2009)
Dark and brooding, earthy and dusty. Hot nose, tannic finish. Rum soaked cherries, charred wood, soy. Less acidic than Terra Neuma from same vintage but hold also for 2-3 years.

2006 Radio-Coteau Pinot Noir Terra Neuma - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (6/10/2009)
Tart Strawberry, rhubarb, sage… big mouthfeel and will ultimately, I predict, be a great wine, but currently overshadowed by puckering acidity. Hold for 2-3 years.

That rum soaked cherry comment of yours makes me shudder. Do I infer that there is a nice dose of alcohol in this wine?

I’ve historically been a big fan of the RC Savoy pinot but these notes don’t make me regret passing on the last mailing list offer.
bought Eric’s Syrah wines in 06 but passed on the PN. last i tasted was 05 Alberigi last summer and i found that bottle a touch simple for the price.
Obviously from the TNs, neither of these impressed me at this point. I did not score them as I think they are way too young. I suspect I will eventually enjoy the Terra Neuma.
I don’t have huge experience, but I prefer their Sonoma Coast appellation La Neblina to their SVDs.
