Just for the record, at Chambers Wine in NYC I’ve purchased a lot of older bottles – a few over 50 and eligible for AARP membership. They stand behind everything. I’ve never had a problem bottle, but I’ve been in the store when other people have and have returned bad bottles. Refund. It’s called retail and customer service. When I buy at auction, I pay a lower price and take my chances.

Just to pile on, the 93 Perrieres is killer. I just bought 6 more.
4 for 4 corked (only bought 1 personally) over the past 10 years or so. I just shake my head whenever I see one.
