73% of Brits are intimidated by wine lists

In the US, 73% don’t know what a wine list is.

disclaimer, this is related to my business, but i’ve done some research on this and it’s completely in line with other studies that have looked at this; roughly 75% of diners find wine lists “overwhelming” “intimidating” and “confusing” and honestly, i’m shocked it’s that low. even a modest wine list is just an insanely terrible user experience for the dining public. combine that with the opaque nature of wine pricing, low lights, a short amount of time to make an expensive decision, and of course the expert provider dilemma if you do actually ask the staff for guidance. and when you finally make a decision, they’ve sold out of tha wine  in fact, there isn’t really anything good about it.

Yaacov,

If you don’t mind my asking, What is your business? It sounds potentially interesting.
