3 Burgs

2002 Morey-Blanc St-Aubin 1er Cru: Light toasty development showing up on the nose along with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. It is compact, linear and lively in the mouth. Drinking very nicely today with a little room for further improvement.

2007 Patrick Javillier Meursault ‘Les Tillets’: First bottle was badly oxidised, the replacement, delicious. Orchard fruits are cut by lemon juice and there’s an engaging thread of flora through the wine. It is nicely proportioned in the mouth with a fruit sweet heart and good cut.

2007 Claude Dugat Gevrey-Chambertin ‘La Gibryotte’: At first there’s some oak spice and camphor then sweet cherry fruits abound. It has plenty of flesh and good intensity in the mouth and with air there are some really pretty floral things going on.

Thanks for the notes.

Really enjoy your notes cuz you frequently introduce producers or vineyards I’m unfamiliar with. Keep em coming.

Really? Ugghhh.

drank an 04 Morey-Blanc CC while in Burgundy and it made me determined to try more wines from Pierre Morey - terrific stuff.

His reds are nice also.
