You know, I live about a block away. I’m going to sneak over and steal them.
Limestone Kabinett and Kirchspiel Kabinett are in this range
Some bastage bought 3 of the 4 on Wednesday night. Fortunately, I checked inventory in then morning before I got in the car.
I pivoted to Binny’s in Lincoln Park and loaded up on the Max Ferd. VE Kabinett. They were out of the other Rieslings, but on the bright side they have a very large selection ciders.
I walked out with… a lot. When I got home, my wife greeted me and promptly went for a walk, allowing me to sneak everything down to the basement with nary a side eye.
Thanks again for all of the suggestions!
I know that feeling all too well
I suspect I am where you were half a decade ago. Riesling has always been a bit of an afterthought for me. The Richter VE seems like the perfect starting point for more exploration.
(I did pick up some 2008 Prüm from The Chicago Wine Company as a birth-year wine for my youngest.)
If you’re ever near the big Lincoln Park Binny’s, let me know. It’s the one close to me. Also, you’re not too far from Vin. Vin is a small shop, but sometimes has some hidden gems.
Will do! Lincoln Park’s cider selection was fantastic. My son has started brewing his own cider, so I got a bunch for us to try.
I was at Vin on Friday and they have several new Rieslings in the shop at the moment. Several new JB Becker options. They also seemed to get a lot of interesting smaller producers from the Vom Boden portfolio.
