2017 Idlewild Cortese Fox Hill Vineyard

2017 Idlewild Cortese Fox Hill Vineyard: It’s always fun (at least for me) pairing wine with food. Looking for that special pairing can bring some disappointments but every so often you nail one. Like last night :slight_smile:
The wine is 75% direct press and 25% fermented on the skins for several weeks. Stone fruit, spicy apple, orange oil and honeysuckle are the aromas and flavors of this wine. Very fresh, lively, great acidity and a bit of tannin grip from the 25% that is skin fermented.
Went perfectly with the outstanding Seafood Risotto. The briny, tangy seafood matched with the savory flavors and texture of the Cortese really well. 12.5% ABV for the wine and a big yum for the combo!
