2011 Pierre Gonon Blanc

Popped one of these on Saturday for a weekly wine group Zoom session with a Rhone white theme. I opened a 2009 of this a couple of years ago at an in person event (along with the Rouge) which was tired and clearly on the back end of life (storage was fine, but advanced somehow along the way). This, in contrast, was fresh and light yellow with smoke, quince, melon, lime, and slate. The palate was lithe and included some peach and spice - possibly thyme. A complete wine and pleasure to drink right now. My remaining bottle will probably get drunk this year cause why deny myself this level of enjoyment?
