Been hearing a lot about this winery lately, and when browing my LWS and saw this, I had to jump on it. 30 minutes in the decanter and it was ready to go, and it kept getting better. I think the ABV was 15.1, but you would never know. Pure dark fruits, with nice acidity. I didnt get the heat that some noted on CT - could be the decanting helped that. Really excited to try what Carlisle, Bedrock, Biale and Siduri will do with fruit from this vineyard. Really enjoyed this wine and will definitely seek out other bottles from this producer.
Yup…you pretty much nailed this one, Scott. What was the price point??
They also have two other vnyd block designates and a Syrah that are even better…though perhaps not worth
the additional tarrif.
Scott (winemaker) and Jake (gofer) Bilbro are doing a great job of bringing Limerick (“there was an old lady from Nantucket…”) Lane back to the greatness
it had early on in MichaelCollins ownership. And they now own the GibsonRanch (Mike…you need to walk this Ranch sometime) up in McDowellVlly/MendoCnty
and are well on the way to restoring it to its once-former greatness. MikeOfficer & GibsonRanch Syrah??? The thought boggles the mind.
