2010 Kutch offering

Anyone have any thoughts on these?
I got the email about them yesterday,
$39 for the Sonoma Coast
$50 for the Savoy

I have not tasted the 2010’s, but I have had almost every other bottle that Jaime has made in the past and I think they are some of (if not THE) best US made pinot’s for my palate. I took every bottle and wishlisted more. I love the balance and elegance of his wines.

I’ll just echo Ross’ sentiments. I always buy my full allocation and I believe wish-listed doubling the allocation this time. Always well-crafted wines from Jamie.

Thanks for the input, I think I’ll take the Sonoma Coast, not sure about the Savoy due to cost.

I received an offer today for the first time. Bought three of each based upon the rep here on the board. [drinkers.gif]

Received my first offer today as well. Probably going to load up, but where (roughly) do these fall in the US Pinot Spectrum?

I’m under the impression they are elegant and restrained in terms of CA PN?

Yes, they are too restrained for my taste. I seem to be one of the few people that don’t get much out of these wines.

So you like KB I would guess.

As far as Kutch, I like the restrained style but also like Loring which is more restrained relative to KB, but more fruit than Kutch.

Now I did not wishlist any as I am not a greedy SOB and would not mind letting some go to the waitlist. neener

I guess I’m a bit of a minority here. I don’t find Jamie’s wines restrained at all. They are not as blowsy as some, and have lower ETOH and higher acid profiles than many, but his wines are full of flavor and pinot character

I bought one to try it. Looking forward to tasting my first Kutch.

Two cents early on a Sunday…
Had only one of these, the SN. Would never have thought, “restrained,” and would also not have thought “sub-$40.” so I’m thinking it’s time I git on the kutch list.

i think you have to talk about the wines being restrained “in comparison to x” I think they are more restrained than say KB, sea smoke and the like, but do NOT for a second compare them to OR pinot or burg, or any earthier leaning wines.

I bought a couple of each and will try each young as they’ll be my first Kutch wines. Email showed up right after I bought a few more 2010 Burgundies. D’oh! Preparing for spanking now.

Exactly, that is why I provided a few reference points. [cheers.gif]

I bought my full allocation just like I have since his first release. Love the Kutch wines.

He made a wonderful rose in 2005 too! (Wasn’t offered any in 2006)

Do you normally receive an order confirmation after ordering? Ordered yesterday, but I haven’t seen any email invoice/receipt as of yet.

He took a couple days to write manually to me to confirm my small order

Thanks, Berry!
