2010 Chateau Montelena Riesling

I picked up a bottle of this on a whim last week since it was offered to me at a great price at $12 bucks. Opened it up and over the first couple nights I just wasnt showing that great. It was off-dry but in a fat way that just wasnt really appealing to me. A week goes by and I forget it in the fridge and revisited it tonight and my has it changed for the better!! showing more acid, fruit is wonderfully more integrated and overall just drinking great for a domestic riesling. You cant really compare this at all to its German brethren but it seems to have more similarity to an alsatian riesling although I am not too experienced in that arena.

If anything this really shows the age curve of this and you can let these rest for a while if they are going to develop into this quality of a wine!
