2009 Marc Colin St Aubin 1er Cru 'Chateniere'

Pale straw color. Beautiful aromas of peach, pear, apple and linden flower. On the palate the wine is light to medium in body, a little less density than expected (and hoped for) from the aromas. The flavors reprise the aromas with added hints of white spices (ginger, coriander seed). The subtlety and intricate interplay of flavors is outstanding, as is the freshness of the almost New World fruit (although it’s blatantly Burgundy). Rated 91.6, this is probably ready to drink while the youthful fruit is there.

Nice note Dan. I really enjoy the chards from St Aubin. I think they over deliver, maybe not age worthy, but what white is now from Burgundy, especially at that price point.

Totally agree. I really like the PYCM bottling also, it’d be interesting to taste them side-by-side.

It would be very interesting to try these St Aubin from Marc and Pierre-Yves.
