Anyone have any experience with either of these wines? Thinking about cracking one tonight. Thanks in advance.
DON’T !
Truth is I don’t have any experience with this producer and I am a big believer that the only way you learn about a wine is to taste it at its various points along its evolution. The fact that I would even purchase Bryant or any other wine at this price point clearly demonstrates that I have more money than sense so at the end of the day - its like WTF - may as well go for one.
The 98 Taittinger Brut Blanc de Blanc Comte de Champagne was the prelude - some toasty oak albeit mild - vanilla bean - baked bread - some lemon zest - silky smooth - fine mousse. Yeah - this is good stuff and in a good place.
2009 Bryant Family - Very youthful but clearly a well made wine. Opens up over an hour or so - great nose and really nice midpalate. There clearly is some beautiful fruit here - the wine has a nice finish too. A bit disjointed at present - clearly can use some age but I get the wine. This is beautiful and went very well with a nice filet.

Jack, worth the money?
I have close friends in So-Fla who had the 08 a week or two ago with a 4-6 hour decant and loved the wine.
Thanks for the advice Glenn. In the end I went with 09 since that is what I have been trying a lot of lately and I have a few more. This is fine juice. I think holding for a few years is reasonable but with a decent decant the 09 drinks very well right now for such a young wine. I haven’t compared enough 08s and 09s to get a good handle on which vintage will drink better at a young age and that was the purpose of the post - to see if anyone has a feel for that.
PM sent!
My buddies also had the 08 DB4 recently (and chastised me for not knowing this was BF 2nd wine) and loved that one too.
