Get the f*ck out! Is all I could think…
Grassy, lemony, full bodied and delicious, kinda reminded me of a Chablis…
But, from New Zealand?? GTFO!! No way!
Had it by the glass…

I’ve really liked several of their Chards. Just had the '09 Mates last night and although it wasn’t as good as older vintages I’ve had (loved the '04), very good stuff.
It IS quite good! The style at Kumeu River has changed over the past couple of decades and is now offering a style close to village white burgundies (in my opinion) at a wonderful price.
I can’t think of a better buy in Chardonnay.
I probably should have clarified - it’s the Kumeu River Estate bottling (didn’t know there were other bottlings)
Gonna pick up a few. Great wine for $29.
I think it punches above many white village Burgundies.
+1
I had the pleasure of meeting Michael Brajkovich, winemaker/owner, at his winery years ago. Brilliant guy and a good fellow! The Chard is barrel fermented using native yeast.
