No formal tasting note as I lack the palate to accurately describe what I taste, but all I can say is thanks to Tom Gutting for raving about this winery to me. Consistantly amazing. The best way for me I can describe it is feminine but complete. Full flavored without being over the top. It’s just a joy each and every bottle. I honestly don’t buy enough of this producer even though I have a case laying around. Anyway, not sure how prior vintages are fairing, but I’m loving the '07’s I’ve had. The '08’s are resting, but they are tempting me.
I agree…Wesmar is a top notch winery that deserves much more attention.
I’m torn… I’m glad they kinda fly under the radar so I can get all I want (not that I buy enough to really worry about not getting enough), but at the same time, their wines should sell out immediately. They’re THAT good. I almost hate opening bottles because it means I have one less. Completely agree; fantastic wines that fly under the radar.
I passed on the 2007s, not because of the vintage or the wines but due to extenuating circumstances. I am drinking mostly from 2005 right now and I have not be less than thrilled with any bottle. Special consideration must be given to the 2005 Olivet Lane though, it is an outstanding pinot with aromatics that reach heights never attained and one that can possibly be enjoyed for years. I wish Denise and Wes more success, they deserve it as much if not more than anyone in the industry…

Thanks to this board I have discovered WesMar PN’s and they have been one of my favorites. I just picked up some more 08.
I wish I’d learned of WesMar earlier, so '07 was my first vintage. Haven’t touched any of the '08’s though. And the '07 Zin is fantastic. Unfortunately, no more Zin is planned to be produced. Skewis is also another one that I’ve been very pleased with so far. Wish I’d stumbled across it earlier as well.
Great call on the '05 Olivet Lane; I’m trying my hardest to keep those bottles cellared.
