2007 Peay Vineyards Chardonnay Estate

  • 2007 Peay Vineyards Chardonnay Estate - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (5/15/2009)
Cracked this to accompany a miso salmon with brown rice and spinach. Opened an 04 Aubert Ritchie Vineyard Chard first that was corked…opened this as a replacement.

At first this showed a little lean but with a little air and just a few minutes it really opened up and was quite rich. On the palate it’s loaded but very balanced with notes of gardenias, a little butterscotch, bitter almonds and pear along with just a hint of white chocolate. The finish is medium in length and this has the structure to last more than a few years. We have a few more bottles and I hope they make it another 5-7 years. The more I drink Peay, the more I like Peay!!! (92 pts.)

Tony, due mostly to increasing prices in a decreasing economy, I dropped both Kistler and Aubert,
and more than maxed out my Peay Chard purchases. I ended up with 28 bottles of 06, and 18 of the 07.
I’m probably going to pop my first 07 within the next 2 weeks.

Peay whites ROCK!!!

Peay Chard is tops every year. I am thankful for no press.

limited press - Eric Asimov is a big fan!
