2007 Herb Lamb EII Cab

Posted on the other site, but for those banned, or uninterested in that board…

Just got an email about this. Two-packs for $90. Seems like a great opportunity to get a good '07 at an extremely reasonable price. Has anyone tried their cabs from this vintage.

I went for two… didn’t expect this mailer. It snuck up on me. Damn creepers.

Yeah, I was wondering about this as well.

Any Herb Lamb folks know about EII?

You might have to break down and take a little peek at the other board, Todd. Not tooons of posts, but a few to give you an idea.

Eh. I can wait. I know Bowden is a big Herb Lamb fan, among others here.

We just spend our weekends drinking and partying, unlike the losers there, and those on this thread. D’oh!

There are 2 E-II wines.

E-II white is Sauvignon Blanc from Yountville.E-II red is from the Herb Lamb vineyard (it’s now designated as a cab) that doesn’t make the cut for the ‘big’ wine.

We visited last August with Jennifer Lamb - and our kids.
They went nuts over these wines. and with 07 being the vintage that it is… they will want a bunch more!!!

The EII cab is worth a go, Bud?

Tell them not to go too nuts, it’s a 2 bottle limit from the winery. Any secondary market of this will be what trickles down the pike but none wholesale, Jennifer already burst my bubble [cry.gif]
Don’t pass it up if you have the chance to get it.

Carrie,

Stop following me from board to board [oops.gif]

I thought it was the other way around neener I’m awaiting your next TN on some scrumptious Shiraz over here [rofl.gif]

I’m drinking Siduri now, but you already knew that. Amazing how this $20 bottles crushes that shiraz. I should have sold it just to ruffle Posner’s feathers. Of course I might have gotten $50 for it.

Don’t miss out on this one. Tasted with Jen a few weeks back and it was rocking! Luckily I was smart enough to encourage my better half up for the list also; two allocations! [training.gif]

Well done! I’m glad you didn’t send the Sojourn my way. Now my money went towards these guys. Well done on the double dipping, Costanza! [welldone.gif]

Very intriguing , but that shipping cost is really high.

They are offering me a 2-pack of Cabs for $90 or a 6-pack for $200. The 6-pack is 3 cab and 3 SB. And I’ve never bought from them before.

Indeed. Adds $10 per bottle - ridiculous, really.

I might have it delivered to one of their dropoff locations and just pick it up myself when I’m there sometime.

Signed up for the wait list based on review here. Happily jumped on the two pack. I have high expectations.

I feel like the EII is open to anyone. If you go to the website there is an order form you can print out an send in.

At about 120 cases of production, doing it this way opens it up to 600+ people that might not otherwise be able to buy in. Not a bad marketing idea…and, even with shipping, not out of line with what some others are charging for seconds.

The 05 EII is a fantastic wine and better then most cabs that are twice the price. This is a must buy and will gladly take anyones allocation if they don’t want it.

Not so fast. Carrie will take anyones allocation at cost, + $5.00 per bottle.

P.S. Shipping costs probably appear high, but with anything over 25 cases, it is essential for most wineries/vintners to use a fullfillment center for efficiency and cost reductions on the winery/vintner end. If Carrie had to ship out 50 cases a day, I would get tired just watching her. [popcorn.gif]
