2007 Domaine Ninot Mercurey Premier Cru Les Crets

Tasted over two days. Slow ox’d for four hours or so both days. Transparent garnet with a clear rim. Some red fruit and floral components on the reticent nose. This was shut down tight when it got in the mouth. Sealed and refrigerated.

The second day really woke it up, especially with dinner. Roasted rack of lamb, garlic Yukon golds and fresh spinach. The nose is quite expressive and appealing. Asian spice and cherries. The palate/ mouthfeel brings a lovely balance of tart red fruits, cherries and rhubarb with a severe acidic cut. Nice length on the finish with some firm tannins.

So, I’m trying out scoring wines and giving this a 91.

50+5+13+15+8= 91.
