2007 Domaine Jean Royer Chateaneuf du Pape Cuvee Prestige

Opened and slow ox’d at the Harvest Vine, a Basque/Spanish restaurant in Seattle. We always sit upstairs at a bar table and share a bit of the bottle with the bar manager. You end up getting waived corkage and extra bites of things like slightly overcooked scallops. Deep purple color, expressive and appealing nose of dark red and purple fruit. No shrinking violet here. Lots of weight on the palate and just a fruit bomb. Enjoyable with the food, but a touch of flab and a hint of heat on the finish.
