2007 Chateau Pesquie Terrasses Cotes du Ventoux

Decanted two hours. 70% Grenache 30% Syrah. Dark purple with a ruby rim.
Serious reduction on the nose at first, the decant was necessary to get rid of it. Once it blew off, it showed a really elegant mélange of red and blue fruit mixed with smoky notes.

Big wine on the palate. Plenty of red fruit from the Grenache with nice acidity and weight from the Syrah. Sweet tannins add complexity.
Long finish adds to the elegance of this wine.

This punched way above it’s weight and really delivered the goods.

great note on this bargain. i drank my 6 pack in the first 3 months i had it.

The '06 was a hit also “great oak, good fruit, garrigues, compelling, medium weight”, drank very well.

awesome QPR, ( are you listening Tom Reddick??) Also places the Ventoux on the map region of the Rhone

Had this the other night. Solid value, not enough for me to seek more however.

Having a glass of this right now. At $10, my go to red for over a year. Oddly enough wine shops within sight of Mt. Ventoux were selling this for 10 euro last (2009) summer. It needs a little chill on it.
