2006 Tablas Creek Syrah (USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles)
Cracked this last night for a glass of red wine while Traci cooked. Popped and poured and will check out the rest tonight probably.
Lots of plum and pepper in this wine along with some wood tannins and graphite. There’s also a little juiciness from the acidity that I think will keep this fresh. It’s going to need a little time to mellow and sort of reminds me of a baby Ojai Syrah in its flavor profile. I think this may garner an additional point or two by tonight as it fleshes out and the oak drops off. (1 view)
