2006 Chambolle Musigny "Les Babilleres" (Deux Montille Soeur et Frere)

Tasted this at K&L a couple of weeks ago.
2006 Chambolle Musigny “Les Babilleres” (Deux Montille Soeur et Frere) - $39.99
Light red color. Fine red berry nose with a touch 'o ham.
Luscious, very feminine red fruits entry leads to an intriguing ripe strawberry finish. A crowd pleasing QPR! [91+ pts]

Montille REALLY produced some fine wines in 2006!

Thanks for the note.

The lack of track record and kind of mixed notes on the 2005 on CT have me a bit conflicted.

Are there are ratings that you know of for this wine?

I agree that it’s well priced, but $40 still a’int cheap in my hood.

Sounds tasty and worth $40

Deux Montille is the negociant operation of siblings Alix and Etienne (of Dom. Hubert de Montille) Montille. They focus mostly on whites. It looks like they buy good fruit and have good results with their whites so I don’t doubt the quality of their reds.

I had a bottle of this wine a couple weeks ago, and Paul described it well, an elegant wine with forward fruit. It didn’t strike me as a long-term ager, but drinking very nicely today. I also enjoyed a glass of the 2006 Deux Montille Saint Aubin (Sur Gamay, I think) at dinner with friends on a recent trip to the Sierra Foothills. Label looks reminiscent of de Montille.
