2006 Bernard Baudry Chinon, Loire Valley

  • 2006 Domaine Bernard Baudry Chinon - France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Chinon (2/19/2009)
This is a terrific wine that Traci opened last night to accompany wasabi flank steak with fingerling potatoes and watercress. The nose is distinctly herbal, blackberry and anise and minerals. The palate is medium bodied, with juicy acidity showing more blackberry, tobacco, herb, minerals…finish is short/medium and texture is fairly silky. This is the type of wine you could curl up with and drink by the case and not feel guilty for the sub $20 price tag…good with food, good for a glass or two while cooking or reading or watching a movie… (89 pts.)
