2005 Tamber Bey Oakville Cab

Popped and poured.

Ready to roll right out of the gate. Nose of kisrch and cocoa. Bold flavors of black cherry, currant, chocolate and clove. Very soft tannins combine wine some nice minerality and moderate acidity on the long, complex finish. In a good place and extremely enjoyable.

how much was it again? $55?

$65 I think

I ordered three, excellent Merlot in the blend. $65 it is. The 07 Chard kicks arse as well.

That day was a source of excellent QPR I think in Napa wines. The Myriad and TB stuff were all pretty damn good for sub $70

Their Yountville area bottling is a strong QPR in the $40 range as well

The 06 rocked when Thomas brought it to dinner last winter.
Great QPR.

Mike, I found the Oakville 06 more in keeping with the vintage and admired the structure more than the tannins.

A bit rough around the edges yes, but imagine 3/5 years in bottle?
From March:
2006 Tamber Bey Cabernet Sauvignon - A sweet red and black fruit filed nose, this was multi dimensional and deep. An elegant and mind boggling wine that just keeps giving. What a great deal in today’s market. I will seek this one for my cellar.
