Very pretty cranberry & crimson edges. Not very brooding. The nose has some dark currant, rose petal and black cherry. There is a medium body mouthfeel that is very rich and plush. Very plush. There is a tiny touch of heat that quickly dissapated with some air (I popped and poured). Then some chewy tannins with a clean and pure acid level (Steaks?). This has all the stuffing of a world class cabernet. A decent elegant finish completes this nicely.
This is my favorite retailers (Gary’s NJ) own label and he will tell you on his website that he is ‘unable to tell you where it comes from’. I can tell you that the back label says Girard, and I’m thinking more Rudd. A great deal with tons of upside for the next 2-5 years drinking. Decant 1 hour, minimal.
