2005 Domaine Michel Gros Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits

Simply a great bottle of wine for the $$. Drinking great right now! Sweet fruit with plenty of acid to back it up. Nice complexity for the $$ & enough tannin to cellar it for 5-10 years if desired. (Personally, I can’t keep my hands off.)

Nice note Ed, I guess your down to 999 05’s. [laughingneqw.gif]

Thanks for the note.

Jason

Well, it was a 375ml so I’m only down to 999.5 05’s! AND It has been extremely hard for me to resist buying more of these but, as you know, I just don’t have room. [shrug.gif]

I look at the '05 vintage as my chance to load up on a classic vintage like '61 or '82 in Bordeaux. I’m in love with ‘05 Bordeaux and Burgundy. [give_heart.gif] In 10-15 years we’ll have a LOT of drinkin’ to do! [highfive.gif]

Nice day - where’s your kayak?

It’s been a great day Ed, I did a 2 hour paddle and a 40 mile bike ride. Tonight it’s shrimp and wine. [dance2.gif]

Nice!

Sadly, no bike ride for me but I DID fix the boat lift AND went Sky Skiing!

Tonight - Sounders game and then something red! Gotta drink something so I can post another note!

[rofl.gif] Good excuse…Have fun at the game…Oh hey, did the 63 Warre get better or worse the 2nd day, you never posted on the leftovers.

Steve:
The Warres was better to me on day 2. While it never had the power of the Taylor or the completeness of the Nacional it did gain in complexity and length on day 2. It was fabulous Port and would have been the star on any other night. THAT was fun!
