2004 Beaucastel (from Magnum)

Cracked this over a lovely dinner (rack of lamb) with friends this weekend. Decanted for 2 1/2 hours prior to first tasting. Initial nose yielded almost nothing. Very smooth on the palate with the classic wild herbs, nice long finish. Still has a long long life ahead of it. Was just surpised how little the nose developed over the 4+ hours the bottle was open.

Also finished the night with a 1999 SQN Mr K DBS which was absolutely gorgeous.

Thanks for the note - I really liked this when I had it next to the '05 at release, at which point the aromatics beat the '05 for me. I’m thinking more time and smaller format will see it right

Thanks for the update!
