2004 Allram - Riesling - Strassertaler - Zöbinger Heiligen

– popped (glass seal) and poured –
– tasted non-blind over 4 hours –

NOSE: Interesting bouquet – faintly tropical, with strong notes of petrol and peas.

BODY: pale golden-yellow color of medium-great depth; medium-light body.

TASTE: incredible minerality … a lot more minerals than fruits; lentils; nice acidity; oddly dry – bone-dry, really; long finish (45 sec.); 14% alc. is a bit much for my preferences; very nice wine, but not my style – I prefer the lower-alc. off-dry German Rieslings. Still, this seems to be a nice example of Austrian riesling.
