I have held onto a significant amount of my A.P. Vin Pinots, gifting several bottles over the years, but drinking them on rare occasion one or two times a year across all vintages back to his first. This was AP Vin’s 2nd vintage if not mistaken and the Gary’s is something special. Honestly, as I am away, I don’t have time for all the descriptors. It is at peak, drinking with verve and showing a really sexy side which will delight anyone remotely interested in old school CA PN, even with a fairly new producer. Credit goes where deserved and this was a kick ass bottle. Andrew deserves kudos on this one for sure! I had a tough time deciding between 93 and 94 points with this bottle.
Thanks for the note. I only have the Clos Pepe left from 04 and plan to dig that out this year. I recently drink the 05 Clos Pepe which mighty tasty.

By coincidence I reached into my Eurocav last night and pulled out a 2004 AP Vin Clos Pepe. I would not describe this as a sexy wine. The wine was somewhat tart and maybe had a hint of stawberry. I actually liked this as it went well with dinner.
PSA: Costco has the 08 for $21!
What the what? Not a fan of Garys’ so I would still probably skip but that is a blow out price.

Yeh my TX distributor has some 'splaining to do. I was informed by a memeber of my mailing list the other day. This is an obvious mistake/dump on one SVD and I would suggest taking advantage of it while you can in TX…this will never happen again. I have phone calls, texts, emails into my TX distributor and as is the nature of the distribution business…crickets…I plan to write a book on the inner-workings of distribution…probably titled…The Good, The Ugly, and the Ugliest!

also last week, the distributors offered Loring’s Rosella’s for freaking $16 to restaurants. they also had an appellation from him for $13. great deals.
