2002 Siduri "sapphire Hill" Pinot Noir

2002 Siduri “sapphire Hill” Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley
Opened to accompany a Green Goddess Chicken Salad (Food and Wine cover recipe). Wine initially drank very well. Nose screams RRV Pinot with beet root, cola, underbrush and spice. Drinking, the wine was nicely fruited with more cola, beet root, sandalwood and spice. Good acidity with a medium length finish. It drank well for about 1 1/2 hours before fading. If you have these I would suggest drinking up soon.

Nice note, Tony. I polished off my last bottle of this last year, I think it was … and it was showing nicely but you could sense just the barest hints of the down side showing. Enjoyable wine.
