2001 Williams Seylem "Sonoma Coast" Pinot Noir

Had this last night with duck breast with grape sauce and pureed butternut squash.

Interesting wine, with notes of celery seed, cola, cranberry, spice and some mushroom. On the palate, more celery seed, cranberry/red raspberry, a little beet root and just a hint of chocolate in the end. Finish is a touch short and this is neither heavy or light on the palate…actually seems to be tiring just a bit. Still, a nice drink of wine and paired well with the duck!
