2001 Giuseppe Cortese Barbaresco Rabaja

Drinking nicely… rich, spicy, balsamic notes, still rather tannic but starting to open in the glass… large scale Barbaresco… Rabaja typicity… Considerably more stuffing than the 04, which seems a little thin and taught… Tasty with the last of the Monocacy Ash goat cheese from western MD, which is surprisingly buttery… should work well with the free range chicken roasting with spices from the Spice Market in Istanbul… and a nice way to savor Oakland’s improbable come-from-behind victory (which enabled me to stay on the treadmill for just over an hour and resulted in a really good workout)…
