2001 Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier Magnum

Opened this last year for my dads birthday and it was corked- the 2001 vintage was plagued with cork taint.
The vineyard (Tim Kirk) happily replaced the bottle from their cellar.
young primary fruit with some white pepper and earth and a long palate.
I would never pick it as Cote Rotie but honestly this could go another 10 years and for me it was perfect and a real surprise how good it was for New World.

Nice customer service!

Had the '08 recently and just loved it:

*** 2008 Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier
14%. 94% Shiraz, 6% Viognier.
Elegant, feminine and lovely. Very smooth and balanced, almost floats in the mouth. Fantastic balance, length, and interest. A superior wine indeed.
